The researchers at the Australian National University (ANU) and RMIT University in Melbourne pulled out an unthinkable task by making artificial diamonds at room temperature. The team of scientists created two distinct types of diamonds, one similar to those worn as jewellery and the other known as Lonsdaleite. Lonsdaleite was created by putting pressure “equivalent to 640 African elephants on the tip of a ballet shoe.”
