Petitions pending in high courts on regulation of content on OTT platforms, stayed by Supreme Court

In a major decision, the Supreme Court has put a stay on all the petitions seeking regulation of content on over-the-top (OTT) platforms, that were pending in different High Courts across the country. These petitions included pleas to regulate Netflix and Amazon Prime. Petitioners who filed pleas in Punjab and Haryana High Court, Madhya Pradesh High Court and Allahabad High Court, have received notices from the apex court.
