The volcanic eruption on New Zealand’s White Island may trigger landslides, eruptions and tsunamis, scientists warn. The ash belching out from Volcano Whakaari could also result in downpour of rain. This in turn might unstable the rock, formed immediately after the eruption, and will be washed down the sides of the volcano in a landslide. If it reaches the ocean and plunges into the water it could trigger a tsunami.
