Muslims shouldn't marry non-muslims, seek permission to do so, rules Russian Islamic body

Russian Islamic body ruled that Muslims are prohibited to marry non-Muslims unless given permission by the local mufti. The ruling was given by the Council of Ulema which is a group of clerics and scholars & they believe that interfaith marriages are marked by the emergence of various problems such as difficulties with raising children in the spirit of the Islamic faith. Islam is the second biggest religion in Russia.
