An asteroid as big as Mount Everest will fly by Earth next month, but scientists claim it won’t collide with us. The asteroid, 52768 (1998 OR2), is 1 to 2.5 miles wide and will be passing within 3,908,791 miles, at 19,461 miles per hour. It was first discovered in 1998, and believed to be 'large enough to cause global effects' if it hits Earth. The flyby is expected for April 29 as it orbits the sun every 1,340 days.
