Japanese government orders disinfection of poultry farms after emergence of bird flu deaths

Amid the coronavirus crisis, Japan has been hit by the old bird flu crisis and poultry deaths have been reported from several prefectures. Experts believe that migrating birds from the Asian/European continent are responsible for the highly pathogenic bird flu that has now spread to 8 of Japan’s 47 prefectures. Looking at the worsening of the situation, the government has ordered the disinfection of poultry farms.
