The death toll from a super-powerful typhoon that devastated Japan rose to 43 on Monday, as the rescue and clean-up operation continued throughout the country. The arrival of Super Typhoon Hagibis, most powerful to hit Japan in more than 60 years, on Saturday turned most of Japan into a standstill, including capital Tokyo. The record-breaking rainfall and violent winds triggered vicious flooding and landslides.
