Indonesia’s future capital faces tsunami risk

After a shocking seafloor study Scientists warned about a potential tsunami risk near the region chosen to be Indonesia’s new capital. There is evidence of several ancient underwater landslides through the Makassar Strait between Borneo and Sulawesi. The largest of these might generate tsunami capable of inundating Balikpapan Bay, close to the proposed capital. But scientists have cautioned against any kind of panic.
