According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), August this year was the hottest and driest on record in India, dating back over a century. This event is thought to be a result of climate change. Extreme weather occurrences have become more frequent over the past several months due to climate change. The World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) reported in August that the month of July 2023 was the warmest in more than 1,20,000 years.
