For the first time in history, the Indian Tricolour was unfurled atop the Clock Tower in Srinagar's famous Lal Chowk area to mark the country's 73rd Republic Day. This is for the first time after India's Independence that the national flag has been unfurled on top of Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower). On the occasion of India's 73rd Republic Day celebrations, the locals along with NGO's and Administration held a flag hoisting ceremony.
