Google and DeepMind developed AI that can detect common cause of blindness

Google health and DeepMind have developed an AI that is able to who will get the common causes of blindness. There are 2 types of blindness, one is ‘dry’ and one is ‘wet’. The latter can cause permanent blindness. The system will also detect age-related macular degeneration, that affects millions on people in the US and Europe. The AI model has been trained on an anonymized dataset of retinal scans from 2,795 patients.
