A recent study has linked blood cancers to aggressive gene mutation that triggers a chain of biological events blocking the pathway through which instructions from DNA reaches to rest of the cell. It starts with RNA splicing converting messages from DNA into instructions to make proteins in a cell. In blood cancers Errors in ‘Nonsense-mediated mRNA decay’ RNA splicing create poorly formed proteins that are useless.
