Australia is set to become the first country to permit doctors to prescribe psilocybin and MDMA for treating mental health conditions like depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This is going to take effect from July 1 onward. However, there are concerns among scientists that the safety and effectiveness of these drugs have not been conclusively proven through research.
