Gould's mouse, also known as Pseudomys gouldii, was formerly widespread in eastern interior Australia but vanished during the 1840s, causing concern for the area's animal population. However, it is also thought that this species may have been extinct as a result of the introduction of cats into the region. In comparison to other species, this mouse was somewhat smaller and more sociable.
