Abnormalities detected on brain MRI of COVID-19 patients

Among US patients with COVID-19 pneumonia being treated in ICU with neurological symptoms, 44% of those undergoing MRI have shown acute findings. MRI of these patients’ brains has shown cortical signal abnormalities. This report may help in study of possible neurological involvement of SARS-CoV-2 for patients in ICU, especially for patients who don’t tolerate extubation despite improvement of respiratory findings.
