70 hectares of forest land cleared by Uttarakhand government for border road construction

Amid the standoff with China, the Uttarakhand government has cleared 70 hectares of land in the Gangotri National Park. The land will be used to construct 3 strategically important roads along China border. However, the project is yet to get an approval from the National Board for Wildlife. Uttarakhand forest minister Harak Singh Rawat said the roads will improve the supply of food, ration, weapons for our soldiers.
