28 killed in gas tanker explosion in Central Nigeria

A gas tanker explosion in the central Nigerian state of Kogi left 28 people dead. The explosion was followed by a fire that left several vehicles charred. According to Bisi Kazeem, spokesman for the Federal Road Safety Corp, nine children were involved in the accident. The deadly incident happened opposite a petrol station along the Lokoja-Zariagi highway in the state. The fire also destroyed properties and valuables.
