Aarey Milk Colony
One of the most infamous haunted places in Mumbai also happens to be this luscious green spot in the area. It's a fun place to take a stroll in the daytime. But during the night it's not. People have recorded accidents on the Aarey Colony road connecting the Western Express Highway to the JVLR for years. People frequently see a lady's lonely figure in white trailing cars, while drivers have mentioned seeing a similar figure trailing them through their rearview mirrors, and the lady in white still maintains exactly the same distance from them no matter how quick or slow they go.
D'Souza Chawl
D'Souza Chawl can proudly claim to be the most haunted Mumbai house. It's creepy and eerie haunting, after all, is rooted in the tale of an old woman who fell into a well and died here. There was no boundary wall around the well, and so when the woman got water from it, she unexpectedly slipped into the deep well and plunged into it, dying a horrible death. Since then, it has been said that after sunset, the old woman's spirit continues to wander around the chawl, particularly around the well where she died. There have been several reports of Chawl residents claiming to have seen unnatural shadows, along with the old woman's own eerie appearances.
Tower of Silence
The name, in this case, is not without purpose. Because of its recorded association with the paranormal, the place is notorious. The Parsi community uses it as a cemetery, where the bodies of the deceased are left for vultures and other scavengers to feast on the terrace. With such a reputation and people reporting "an eerie presence" while crossing the city, this place ranks very high in the list of the most haunted places in Mumbai.
Nasserganj Wadi
Nasserwanj Wadi, one of the scariest horror spots in Mumbai, extends within a radius of 1 km from the Mahim Railway Station. Before he was killed in his own cabin, a Parsi gentleman named Naseer owned the house. Reportedly, he was burned alive, resulting in a painful and unnatural death. People reported sightings of the deceased landlord right after his death. Things became more concerning when as many as seven individuals died in the same property within a short period of time. After sunset, people who know about this place avoid being in its vicinity, as the landlord's spirit is infamous for threatening and haunting anyone entering his way.
Poonam Chambers, Worli
It seems like the Poonam Chambers are probably the most tragedy-prone place in the city, located in Worli. One can be forgiven for thinking twice before visiting them, particularly after the Mumbai bomb blasts in 1993, and the 1997 collapse of the B-wing. Watchmen and people who work late night shifts have witnessed eerie occurrences here, such as the rattling of doors and the banging of doors in the notorious B-wing. The souls of those who were fatally killed here in 1993 and 1997 are said to be accountable for this
IC Colony, Borivali
Right in the centre of the IC colony, there is an open garden plot where a gardener committed suicide a few years ago as he was scared of losing his position. His spirit is still connected to the land and is intended to target kids playing in its vicinity. This is one reason why one of the scariest and most haunted places in Mumbai is the IC Colony.
Juhu Pawan Hans Quarters
In 1989, in this town, a 20-year-old woman called Salma set herself on fire. The explanation behind this is not known to anyone, but since then, people have seen the girl's blazing spirit run into the Peepal tree. Residents have constructed a Hanuman Temple in the area in order to protect themselves from damage. Some people say that on extraordinarily dark nights, an ablaze girl still runs through the school.
St. John's Baptist Church, Andheri
Lying in ruins, this deserted church happens to be the site of a haunting and a mysterious exorcism. A young bride's malevolent spirit was said to haunt the church in the seventies, scaring away worshippers. Finally, a priest was called to perform an exorcism in an effort to get rid of her evil spirit's wicked presence. However, halfway through the operation, before hearing a loud splash from the pond outside the church, witnesses reported hearing the sound of mad laughter, a shrieking wail, and sobbing. The next day, all the fish in the tank, all suddenly dead, were found floating on the surface! The mystery of the true identity of the bride remains unresolved, since her death was not accidental, according to the priest-she either committed suicide or was murdered.
