8 Real Life zombie Characters that are present on Earth
Zombie films and television shows have a completely different fan base. The idea of zombies truly existing, on the other hand, is a completely different story. It's all fun and games until science proves that zombies do exist. Posted On August 17th, 2021
Zombie Rat
Toxoplasma, a parasite, has apparently been discovered to turn rats into zombies. The parasite basically paralyzes a part of rats' brains, causing rats to be less afraid of their arch-nemesis, cats.
Zombie Carpenter Ants
A fungal parasite called Ophiocordyceps unilateralis causes ants to mindlessly climb onto a leaf and die there. This is how the parasite spreads as a result of other ants eating the same plant.
Zombie Spiders
Recently, zoologist Philippe Fernandez-Fournier and his colleagues discovered that a species of Zatypota wasp can zombify Anelosimus Eximius spiders. The wasps do this to control the spiders' minds and use them as hosts for their own offspring.
Mutant Zombie Plants
In plants, there is a bacterial group known as phytoplasma that inhabits and causes plant mutagenesis. For example, bacteria can cause a plant to grow leaves or do something unusual in its natural state. This, in turn, attracts insects, who eat the plant and spread the bacteria further.
Sex Zombie Frogs
Once inside a body, a fungus called Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis causes male frogs' mating calls to change into more attractive ones. Hold your horses. I know it doesn't appear to be all that bad right now! After that, the frogs proceed to mate with female frogs mindlessly!
Mud Crabs
Mud Crabs can be turned into zombies by a parasite called Loxothylacus Panopaei. The parasite apparently takes over the crabs' bodies and uses them as a host for its own offspring. The parasite, in particular, attaches itself to the crabs' nervous systems and becomes so enmeshed with the crabs' bodies that it is difficult to separate the two once the process is complete
Killfish
Killifish in California are infected with fluke, a parasitic worm. Once the fluke attaches itself to the fish, it alters the level of serotonin released in the fish's brain, causing it to constantly swim to the ocean's surface, where birds can prey on it.
Pill Bugs
An acanthocephalan parasite takes over their bodies (which is bird poo, just BTW). When the parasite takes over their brains, it causes them to do crazy things like become much more visible to their predators.
