8 Hidden Details about Sheldon we all Missed
Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory is a masterclass in character development. The Nobel Prize-winning physicist is a suffocating roommate, an annoyance of a boyfriend, and, to be honest, quite mean for someone who doesn't understand how sarcasm works. But Sheldon is also a total show-stealer on the show and the main reason for the sitcom's historic run. Posted On July 21st, 2021
His T-Shirts Are Indicators Of His Mood
Sheldon's superhero t-shirts essentially reflect his mental state. This explains why, when he's having a good day, he'll be seen wearing a Star Trek t-shirt, and when he's on a mission, he'll be wearing a Flash t-shirt. When the guys find the ring from The Lord of the Rings set in season 3, Sheldon wants to get his hands on it and is frustrated that he can't.
Wanted To Impress Penny When They First Met
The pilot episode introduced a feature of Sheldon's character that was never developed further: he never tries to impress anyone unless they are Stephen Hawking or Doctor Proton. He is simply overjoyed with himself. However, in the pilot episode of TBBT, Sheldon clearly wants to impress Penny, despite the fact that he has no romantic interest in her.
Can Be Quite Possessive
Sheldon may claim to be someone who does not form attachments in typical ways, but Sheldon may be the most territorial member of the group. In all of his relationships, romantic or otherwise, he brings a childlike sense of possession.
Couldn’t Shake Off His Christian Upbringing
Sheldon has frequently discussed the cultural and religious differences between himself and his Texan family, particularly his mother. His mother is an Evangelical who tries her hardest to persuade Sheldon of the importance of God. And, while Sheldon is dismissive of his mother's religious beliefs, he hasn't been able to shake his Christian upbringing entirely.
Subconsciously Thinks Leonard As His Surrogate Father
Sheldon once described himself as Leonard's surrogate family. Sheldon and Leonard unconsciously developed an ersatz parent-child dynamic in which Sheldon expects Leonard to drive him everywhere, take him to the dentist, and care for him when he's sick.
Nervous About The Idea Of Death
Sheldon has made it abundantly clear that he is terrified of aging and death. He has attempted but failed, to create a chronology calendar in which he tracks how long he can be expected to live. He is concerned about growing old, especially if he does not accomplish everything he desires.
Silent Treatment Is His Go-To Confrontational Technique
Sheldon may have learned the hard way that when he explains his anxieties or demands to others, they don't always understand and may even mock him. So he frequently freezes them out so he doesn't have to confront them verbally or even ask them to explain their behavior.
His Favorite Superhero Is Batman, Not Flash
Despite his collection of Flash t-shirts and fondness for dressing up as the Flash, Sheldon's favorite superhero is Batman. He not only has Batman memorabilia strewn about his apartment, but he also wants him and Amy to dress up as Batman and Robin for Halloween, and he even seeks guidance from the Bat-verse for day-to-day life through a make-believe scenario.
