The Band Provides The Boon To South Korea’s Economy
The global success of BTS has been a financial boon for South Korea and Bang and the other seven members of the band. According to a December 2018 report by the Hyundai Research Institute, BTS contributes approximately $3.5 billion to the South Korean economy each year.
Rm Learned English Watching “Friends”
On a chat show, RM, whose real name is Kim Nam-Joon, revealed, "My English teacher was the sitcom Friends. "Back when I was 15, 14, it was almost like a syndrome for all Korean parents to make their children watch Friends."
BTS Originally started around 2010
Bang Si-hyuk, CEO of Big Hit Entertainment, founded the band in 2010 with RM as the rapper and leader. The remaining six members of BTS, Jungkook, V, Jimin, J-Hope, Jin, and Suga, were added to the lineup in 2012. However, there were many trainees in between who came close to making BTS' final lineup.

They address issues such as mental health, LGBTQ rights, and women's emancipation.
