Phil Lord and Chris Miller to direct Ryan Gosling astronaut film

MGM has roped in Phil Lord and Chris Miller to direct and produce the film adaptation of ‘The Martian’ author Andy Weir’s next novel. The film will have Ryan Gosling in the lead. Weir’s upcoming book is right now untitled, but touted to be ‘Project Hail Mary’, and according to reports is a solitary tale of an astronaut onboard a space ship on a mission to save the planet. It will be out in the spring of 2021.
