Pioneering Nigerian drummer Tony Allen, the co-founder of the popular Afrobeat musical genre, passed away in Paris on Thursday aged 79. His manager says the exact cause of death not yet known but assured it was not linked to the coronavirus. Allen was the drummer and musical director of musician Fela Kuti's iconic band Africa '70 in the 1960-70s. He is often called as the greatest drummer who has ever lived.
