Legendary Bengali singer and Rabindra Sangeet exponent Sumitra Sen passed away in the wee hours of Tuesday. The news of her demise was shared by her daughter, prominent Rabindra Sangeet singer Srabani Sen, on her Facebook handle. “Aaj Maa bhore chole gelen,” she wrote on social media in Bengali, which translates to, “Mother left us at dawn today”. Sumita Sen was 89 at the time of her demise.
