Karan Johar reveals Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra's Student of the Year suffered ₹20 crore loss

Karan Johar went on to share that back in 2012, when his directorial 'Student of the Year' hit the theatres, it went on to become a cult film with all three of the fresh faces receiving rave reviews from the audience. He added that inspite of the film earning Rs 70 crore at the box office, the makers had to incur a loss of Rs 20 crore, as he had "spent like crazy" on the film.
