Renowned Punjabi folk singer Gurmeet Bawa passed away on Sunday following a prolonged illness. She was 77. The folk artist breathed her last at a city hospital here, said family friend Bhupinder Singh Sandhu. "She was taken to the hospital on Saturday evening after she complained of difficulty in breathing," Sandhu told PTI. She came to the limelight when she started performing on Doordarshan.
