Home Minister Amit Shah recently praised Kantara and said that he got to know about the culture of Dakshina Kannada district after watching the film. While speaking at a rally in Karnataka, Amit Shah said, "I just saw Kantara. After seeing the film, I came to know that this state is of such rich traditions. There are very few areas in the country where people make the country prosperous by farming despite the adverse situation."
