Director Spike Lee to lead Cannes film festival jury

Popular American director Spike Lee will be heading the jury of this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The festival organizers have insisted selecting the first black president of the Cannes jury wasn’t a political decision, but it’s a message of universality. Many of Lee’s films have been premiered at Cannes. This year’s festival will run from May 12 to 23 and the rest of the jury members will be announced in April.
