UP Police arrest 8 with radioactive substance californium

The Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested as many as eight people from the Ghazipur area in Lucknow. They were arrested for selling the radioactive substance californium. The matter came to light after the police stopped them near Lucknow's Polytechnic crossing on Thursday for routine checking. As much as 340 gm of Californium worth crores was recovered from them upon checking. The substance was used in cancer treatment.
