Six French aid workers, a Nigerien guide and a driver were killed in a wildlife park in Niger in firing by gunmen on motorcycles on Sunday. The incident happened in a giraffe reserve just 65 km (40 miles) from the West African country's capital Niamey. Niger's Defence Minister Issoufou Katambé said the six French workers worked for an international aid group. France and others have accused Boko Haram of the attack.
