Seven people including former employees of the State Bank of India have been convicted by a special CBI court in Mumbai in the 2008 loan fraud case. The accused have been sentenced to prison ranging from five years to one year by the special court and fined up to Rs. 23 lakh. The former bank officials were accused of overlooking discrepancies in documents while sanctioning a loan of Rs. 1.25 crore to Zarina Bataliwala.
