Unrest has started in parts of South Africa amid worrying food shortages due to the coronavirus pandemic. Looters ransacked shops, attacked the army and police after violating one of the strictest lockdowns in the world. Police had to fire rubber bullets and teargas to disperse the mobs. The unrest comes after a report UN warning that the coronavirus death toll across Africa might reach 3.3 million people.
