The Madras High Court today dismissed the petition filed by Nalini Sriharan, one of the convicts in the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi assassination case. Nalini moved the court seeking direction to the TN government to release her instead of waiting for Governor Banwarilal Purohit's nod. She said her imprisonment from September 9, 2018, is illegal as per the resolution passed by the state government to release 7 convicts.
