Prisoners in southern Iran damaged cameras and other properties during a riot. It’s the latest in a run of violent prison disturbances, while the battle against the most severe coronavirus outbreak in the Middle East continues. Iran had released 100,000 prisoners for now to contain the pandemic. It left around 50,000 people behind bars, including violent offenders and some “security cases” involving dual nationals.
