President rejects mercy plea of Vinay Sharma, one of the four convicts of the Nirbhaya case

The President of India Ramnath Koving has rejected the mercy plea of one of the four convicts in the 2012 Nirbhaya gang-rape murder case. Vinay had filed a mercy petition before President Ram Nath Kovind on January 29. The convict's curative petition was rejected by the Supreme Court earlier. A Delhi court yesterday stayed the hanging of the four convicts. The victim's mother had demanded for the hanging at the earliest.
