Nirav Modi denied bail from UK court, threatens to kill himself

Jailed diamantaire Nirav Modi was denied bail from a UK court on Wednesday. The 49-year-old accused in the Rs. 9,100 crore Punjab National Bank fraud case told the Westminster Magistrates’ Court that he was beaten 3 times inside the prison. He also threatened to kill himself if extradited to India. This was Modi's 5th bail plea. He is in custody ahead of his extradition trial that is scheduled from May 11 to May 15, 2020.
