Murder trial pending for 20 years, SC transfers it to Delhi

The Supreme Court has expressed shock over the pendency of a murder trial in Meerut for 20 years and 55 adjournments and SC has decided to move it to New Delhi's Patiala House. The victim's family has requested the court to transfer the case which was on trial since 1999 and they were losing hope to get any resolution. Supreme Court has said that there can be no reason to keep a murder trial pending for so long.
