Mumbai crime branch busts racket selling baby girls for Rs 60,000 & boys for Rs 1.5 lakh

A racket that used to sell baby girls for Rs 60,000 and boys for Rs 1.50 lakh has been busted by the Mumbai crime branch. The activities of the racket came to light after Police sub-inspector Yogesh Chavana and Manisha Pawar of unit 1 got a tip-off about a woman selling babies. The woman identified as Rukhsar Shaikh was then held and investigated. Two other women, Shahjahan Jogilkar and Rupali Verma were later held by the police.
