Jamia Violence: Sharjeel Imam slapped with sedition charge, his speech led to riots, says Delhi Police

The Delhi Police has slapped sedition charges against former JNU student Sharjeel Imam and has alleged that his speech "promoted enmity" between people that led to riots in and around Delhi's Jamia Millia Islamia University on December 15 2019. Sharjeel had called for cutting Assam from rest of India in one of his speeches to block Army's path. He was arrested based on the charges of “instigating and abetting riots” in Delhi.
