In 2017, Shiori Ito went public with allegations against Noriyuki Yamaguchi with close ties with Japan's PM Shinzo Abe about being sexually abused and raped. Shiori Ito has won the lawsuit and has been awarded 3.3 million yen in damages. The court said in its ruling that she was forced to have sex without contraception while in a state of unconsciousness. Yamaguchi had consistently denied the allegations.
