Delhi Police disposed over 1.8 lakh cases in 2017 due to insufficient evidence: NCRB data

According to the NCRB data, Delhi Police was forced to dispose of over 1.8 lakh cases in 2017 due to insufficient evidence. Uttar Pradesh has the 2nd highest number of such cases at 81,170. The NCRB is responsible for collecting and analysing crime data as defined by the IPC and special & local laws in the country. The data showed Delhi had the maximum number of cases pending investigation followed by Maharashtra.
