Crimes in Delhi increased by 20% in 2018-19, a 3% rise in national crime figures: NCRB

According to the data released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), Delhi saw an increase of more than 20 percent in crimes from 2018 to 2019. The national crimes figure witnessed a surge of just 3 percent during the same period. 290,000 crimes were reported in the capital from 2018 to 2019 and nearly 82 percent of these were theft cases. Theft cases saw an increase of 25.7% from 2018 to 2019.
