Court drops case against ex-Gujarat cops over Ishrat Jahan fake encounter

A special CBI court on Thursday approved the request for discharge of ex-Gujarat police officers DG Vanzara and NK Amin in the 2004 Ishrat Jahan fake encounter killing dropping case against them. The ex-cops were charged with conspiracy, illegal detention, and murder in the Ishrat Jahan case by CBI. After Gujarat govt refused to grant sanctions to the CBI to prosecute them, they filed discharge plea in the court.
