CBI registers case against former chairman of UP Shia Waqf Board in illegal property sale

A CBI case has been registered against several people including Wasim Rizwi, the former chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board in connection with the illegal sale, purchase and transfer of Waqf properties in the state. The state government had ordered a CBI probe last year after it came to know about the illegal sale of land. Charges of cheating, criminal intimidation and breach of trust have been invoked by the CBI.
