At least 23 killed in Colombia prison unrest

At least 23 people were killed in one of Colombia’s largest jails during a mass breakout attempt in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis. 83 inmates were injured during the riot at the La Modelo prison in Bogota. Prisoners at the jails across the country started protesting on Sunday against overcrowding and poor health services. The riot is said to a coordinated plan with disturbances in 13 of the country's prisons.
