1,176 rape cases were registered in Delhi this year till July 15, according to the data. As per reports, 6 rape cases and 8 cases of molestation were reported every day on an average in the capital. This highlights the women safety issues in the capital as the figures are not reducing even 7 years after the gruesome gang-rape and murder of a 23-year-old paramedical student, that led to nationwide outrage.
