Following England's Euro 2020 final loss to Italy, British police detained 11 people throughout the country in connection with racial abuse directed towards Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Bukayo Saka on social media. Following the game on July 11, the UK Football Policing Unit (UKFPU) opened a hate crime inquiry after racist insults were directed at several of England's Black players. Many reports of racism have been filed since then.
