Professor Sarah Gilbert, of Oxford University, pioneered the design of the AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine. She had already received a standing ovation for her performance at Wimbledon, and now she has a Barbie doll named after her. Gilbert, on the other hand, describes the gesture as "quite weird," but believes that it may motivate young people to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
