Complete lockdown announced in Kerala from May 8 to May 16 amid surge in Covid cases

Pinarayi Vijayan-led Kerala government has announced a complete lockdown in the state from May 8 till May 16 amid a sudden spike in Covid cases. "As directed by the CM, the entire State of Kerala will be under lockdown from 6 am on 8 May to 16 May. This is in the background of a strong 2nd wave of COVID-19," the CM office tweeted. Kerala recorded 41,000 fresh Covid cases on Wednesday, making it the highest single-day spike.
