Wholesale inflation surges to 4.17%, highest in 27 months

Wholesale Price Index (WPI) based inflation rose to a 27-month high of 4.17% in February in comparison to the previous month. The inflation rate stood at 2.26% in the same month last year. The rise in inflation reflected in the rising prices of food products and manufactured goods. Provisional food prices and manufactured products rose 3.31% and 5.81% respectively in comparison to the previous month.
